Government funding is available for both Apprenticeships and Train to Gain, which CTS  offers to Carers employed in Care Homes.  So you see there has never been a better time to train with CTS.

Our Apprenticeship programs are complimented with Key Skills, covering interpersonal skills such as; Communication and Numeracy.  Our Apprenticeships also include a Technical Certificate, which assesses specific occupational competence.

*NVQ Level 3 is accepted as entry level for nurse training or as the 'stepping stone' to Care Management.*

    

 
 


Apprenticeship

Ages 16-18

This framework covers Level 2 NVQ in Health &
Social Care.  This focuses upon general Nursing 
care, Key Skills and a Technical Certificate.

This includes:

  • Feeding Individuals/Nutrition
    Moving & Handling
    Health & Safety
    Communication Skills
    Prevention of Abuse
    Developing Knowledge & Practice 
    Key Skills
    Technical Certificate



    Apprenticeship (NVQ Level 2) is ideally suited to Carers in the profession who may not have experience but exhibit enthusiasm; no formal qualifications are required.


  •  


Advanced Apprenticeship

Ages 16-24

This framework covers Level 3 NVQ in Care and is more a supervisory level.  This focuses upon developing the employee further, Key Skills and a Technical Certificate.

This includes:

  • Prevention of abuse
    Health & Safety
    Develop one's own knowledge & practice
    Care Planning
    Continence Management
    Development of supervisory role
    Assessment of clients
    Communication Skills
    Key Skills
    Technical Certificate

    Advanced Apprenticeship (NVQ Level 3) takes the employee to the next level of care and harnesses the skills acquired at level 2, developing the employee further.

Train to Gain is designed to offer Carers aged 19+ the chance to achieve an NVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care.  This is ideally suited to Carers already in the profession who have experience and wish to gain a qualification to compliment this.

CTS can offer this providing:

  • Carers are aged 19+
    Carers have been resident in the UK for at least 3 years
    Carers have a valid N.I. number
    Carers do not have more than 5 GCSEs grade A*-C - or equivalent
    Carers do not have any other Level 2, 3 or 4 NVQ

    This framework covers Level 2 NVQ Health & Social Care and focuses upon general nursing care.

    This includes :

    Feeding Individuals/Nutrition
    Moving & Handling
    Health & Safety
    Prevention of Abuse
    Developing Knowledge & Practice

NVQ Level 2, 3 & 4 Health & Social Care & Registered Managers Award

CTS offer the GOAL Level 2, 3 & 4 NVQ in Health & Social Care, which has been developed from the ‘National Occupational Standards’ and various standard-setting bodies.  Our NVQs provide contemporary qualifications that are current and in line with industry needs.

These NVQs are designed for people who deliver physical, emotional or enabling care to clients.  This applies to environments where care is delivered including residential homes and caring homes.

  Level 2

consists of 6 units for the total NVQ, 4 mandatory and 2 optional units.  Candidates must take all 4 mandatory units and choose 2 optional units, which are selected in conjunction with the current and future job role.  Additional units may also be taken to complement the 6 units already taken.  Suited to those with no previous qualifications.

    Level 4


(Health & Social Care & Registered Manager’s Award)


 

consists of 8 units for the total NVQ, 4 mandatory and 4 optional.  Candidates must take all 4 mandatory units and choose 4 optional units, which are selected in conjunction with the current and future job role. 

Suited to those planning or already in a supervisory/management care role.  The new Registered Manager’s Award is a mandatory requirement for all registered managers from April 2005.  Candidates will be managing a residential/nursing home.

A1 + A2 Assessor Awards

 

 

duration up to 12 months.  Level 3 awards in assessing candidates’ using a range of methods and assessing candidates’ performance through observation, in their vocational area.  Suitable for those who are teaching/training and are responsible for assessing vocational competence.  This course if offered on a roll on roll of basis and likely candidates may be people in the workplace responsible for training others.  To complete the practical assignments you must have candidates to assess.

V1 + V2 Verifier Awards

duration up to 12 months.  Level 4 awards in conducting internal quality assurance of the assessment process.  This is suited to those already holding an NVQ Assessor qualification and are working in an environment where they are able to undertake workplace portfolio verification.
